Complete Entry Procedure for Indonesia – updated February 3, 2026
You are traveling with your family and staying 30 days or less? Then the goal is simple: arrive in Bali stress-free, without unnecessary lines and without unpleasant surprises at the counter.
For many travelers preparing a trip to Bali or a family stay in Bali, entry requirements for Indonesia may seem complex.
As a local travel agency in Bali, we are accustomed to untangling many sometimes complex situations for some of our clients who are occasionally absent-minded or sometimes unlucky.
So in this article, we provide you with the exact procedure, the one we give our clients in the right order, with a clear update on the Balinese project mentioning a possible bank statement check. What is mandatory today to travel to Bali (stay ≤ 30 days)
Passport
Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival.
Short-term tourist visa: e-VOA / VOA
For most European travelers, the simplest option is:
- e-VOA (online) before departure
- Or VOA on arrival (same visa, different method)
Note to families: each traveler must have their own visa, including babies and children.
On the official website, the e-VOA can be completed simultaneously for 5 people.
Exit ticket from the territory
Upon arrival, immigration may request an exit ticket from Indonesia.
This can be a return ticket or a ticket to another destination.
Arrival Card “All Indonesia”
This is mandatory. The declaration is made via All Indonesia and can be completed up to 3 days before arrival.
Bali Tourist Tax (Foreign Tourist Levy)
For Bali:
- 150,000 IDR per person
- Paid only once during your stay

D-10 to D-4: prepare the family file
- Passports (photo + identity page) for everyone
- Accessible emails to receive visas and QR codes
- An international credit card
D-7 to D-3: complete the e-VOA (recommended)
On the official eVisa website, the required documents include:
- Passport identity page (6 months validity)
- Identity photo
- Credit card (Mastercard / Visa / JCB)

D-3 to D-0: complete the Arrival Card All Indonesia
Immigration indicates that All Indonesia can be completed from 3 days before arrival.
At the end of the procedure, you receive a QR code.
Take screenshots on at least two phones.
Before departure: pay the Bali tourist tax (Love Bali)
The official platform indicates:
- 150,000 IDR per person
- Paid only once
Tip: pay in advance and keep the proof in the same place as your visas.
Upon arrival in Bali: what actually happens during a trip to Bali
Step 1: Immigration
You will generally be asked for:
- Passports
- e-VOA (if completed online) or VOA payment on site
- All Indonesia QR code
- Sometimes the exit ticket
Step 2: Customs
The official Indonesian customs website indicates that for arrival by air or sea, the procedure goes through All Indonesia.
For entry by land, the procedure uses the ECD portal.
Customs specifically reminds:
- If you are carrying ≥ 100,000,000 IDR (or equivalent) in cash, you must declare it
- If you are bringing a phone or tablet intended to be used with a local network, you may be asked to report it

What is announced on the Bali side
The ANTARA news agency explains that the provincial government is preparing a draft regulation (“Perda Pariwisata Berkualitas”) aimed at verifying tourists’ financial capacity. The idea described is:
- Bank statement check for the last 3 months
- Amount consistent with the length of stay and activities
- Presence of a return or exit ticket
And essential point: according to the same source, it is specified that this would not necessarily be a “fixed amount written in black and white,” but rather a framework for checking statements over 3 months, to be compared with the program and duration.
What is true today upon arrival
According to information reported by professional tourism media, no official technical instructions have been published.
According to current rules:
- Visitors are not required to present bank statements upon arrival
- However, an officer may request proof of funds on a case-by-case basis
Why this idea remains credible
Because Indonesia already uses proof of funds for certain visas.
For example, certain visas require:
- Personal bank statement for the last 3 months
- Minimum of 2,000 USD or equivalent
The administrative mechanism therefore already exists.
But to date, it does not apply as a standard requirement for tourists coming to discover Bali for a 30-day stay.

Even if the mandatory bank statement is not a widespread rule today, the best strategy remains to be prepared if you are asked for it.

- 3-month bank statement of the main payer (PDF)
